It’s happened, Brett Favre has finally called time on his illustrious NFL career with the Packers. I still feel a little choked up when I think about it, especially after watching his press conference. The sheer emotion the man put into playing the game is staggering. After his wonderful feats this last season, I was beginning to think he’d found a fountain of youth somewhere and could play forever (wishful thinking…) but, in the end, he ran out of puff.

He finishes owning more records than you could poke a stick at, but the one that sticks in my mind is the most consecutive starts for a QB - truly testament to his endurance and spirit.
